# Set Up CRM Field Configurations (V1)

> Define the fields Attention fills in from your calls, then send them to your CRM with a workflow.

Attention has two versions of the field configuration screen. This page covers **V1**: fields have an **Analysis Scope** setting, and a workflow sends their values to your CRM. If your **New configuration** dialog has a **Push to CRM** switch, you're on **V2**: see [Set Up CRM Field Configurations (V2)](https://docs.attention.com/workspace-setup/crm-field-configurations-push-to-crm.md).

A field configuration is a set of fields that Attention fills in from your calls, such as next steps, budget or competitors. A workflow then sends those values to the matching fields in your CRM.

## 1. Create a field configuration

1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then **Settings**.
2. Click **CRM Settings**.
3. In **CRM field configurations**, click **New configuration**.
4. In **Add CRM field configuration**, enter a **Title**.
5. Choose the **Teams** whose calls this configuration covers, or check **All teams**.
6. Under **Apply field configuration to**, the default is **All Conversations**. To use the configuration only on some calls, click **Change**, choose whether calls must match **all** or **any** of the call tag values, select the values and click **Save**. Call tags come from your [call labels](https://docs.attention.com/workspace-setup/call-labels.md).
7. Click **Create Field Configuration**.

The configuration page opens.

## 2. Add a field

1. On the configuration page, click **Add Field**.
2. Enter a **Name** for the field.
3. Choose a **Type**:
   * **Free Text**: any text answer.
   * **Picklist**: a set of options. Under **Picklist Details**, enter each option on its own line, using the same values as your CRM picklist. Check **Multi-select** if more than one option can apply.
4. Choose an **Analysis Scope**:
   * **Analyze entire deal**: reads every call linked to the deal. If no deal is linked, only this call is analyzed. This is the default.
   * **Analyze conversation**: reads only this call.
5. Write the **Prompt**: tell Attention what to pull from the call and how to format the answer. Click **Optimize** to have Attention improve it.
6. Under **Test your prompt**, pick a past conversation and click **Test** to see the result.
7. Click **Save**.

Repeat for each field you need. The fields appear under **Active fields**. Drag them to change their order, or click a field to edit it.

To rename the configuration or change its teams or calls, open the menu next to its name at the top of the configuration page and click **Edit settings**.

## 3. Send the fields to your CRM with a workflow

Connect your CRM first, as described in [Salesforce](https://docs.attention.com/workspace-setup/salesforce-integration.md) or [HubSpot](https://docs.attention.com/workspace-setup/hubspot-integration.md).

1. Go back to **CRM Settings**.
2. In **Connect Attention fields to CRM fields with workflows**, click **Add workflow**.
3. Enter a **Name** and click **Create**. The workflow opens, already turned on and with a trigger as its first step.
4. Click the trigger step to open **Select Workflow Trigger**, then choose when the workflow runs:
   * **User exports Fields from Attention**: reps review the values in the call's **CRM** tab and click **Update Records** to send them. This is the default.
   * **Conversation finished**: values are sent automatically when the call finishes, with no action from the rep.
   * **Conversation finished or User exports Fields from Attention**: values are sent automatically, and reps can also send them from the **CRM** tab.
5. Click **+** below the trigger, choose your CRM, then **Update … Fields** (for example, **Update Salesforce Fields**).
6. In **Update Platform Record**, choose the **Connection**, the **Object** to update (for example, an opportunity) and the **Field Configuration** you created.
7. Under **Field Mappings**, click **+** for each field. Pick the CRM field under **Connection Field** and the matching Attention field under **Attention Field**.
8. Click **Add**.

The switch next to the workflow name turns it on or off.

## 4. See it in action

After a call, Attention fills in every field in the configuration. You'll find the values in the call's **CRM** tab.

* With **Conversation finished**, your CRM is updated with no rep action.
* With **User exports Fields from Attention**, reps check the values and click **Update Records**.

To learn more about the rep side, see [Update Your CRM from a Call](https://docs.attention.com/core-features/crm-sync.md).
